The Dewan Rakyat will also continue the debate on Supply Bill 2024 (Budget 2024) at the committee level for the relevant ministries.

According to the Parliament's calendar, the debate on the Supply Bill 2024 at the committee level is scheduled for 12 days until Nov 27.

Once the session is completed, there will be a policy-level winding-up session by each ministry for the 2024 Supply Bill.

After the question-and-answer session, the sitting will continue with the debate session on the Supply Bill 2023 at the committee level.

The bill is to use a sum of money from the Consolidated Fund for services for 2023.

The Supply Bill 2023 is expected to be tabled for the first reading in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Perikatan Nasional’s Supply (Reallocation of Appropriated Expenditure) Bill 2020 was passed this afternoon after 111 MPs voted in favour.  

There are 222 MPs, which means exactly half of the MPs voted in favour of the bill.

Earlier today, when debating the Budget 2020 Reallocation Bill, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is now an opposition MP, slammed the Perikatan government’s spending habits.

The Dewan Rakyat today approved the Supplementary Supply (2021) Bill 2022 to apply for the extra allocation of RM8.4 billion for additional expenditure in 2021.

Bintulu MP Tiong King Sing's remark that Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah "is afraid to die" for not coming down personally to Sabah to monitor the Covid-19 situation prompted an outcry in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Tiong made the remark during his debate on the Supply Bill 2021, prompting RSN Rayer (Harapan-Jelutong) to demand an apology for the alleged insult.

"I won't allow him to attack the DG. The DG is a frontliner!" said Rayer, who was eventually ejected from the Dewan Rakyat by Deputy Speaker Azalina Othman Said.

Azalina proceeded to give Tiong two options of whether to retract his remarks or to clarify it.

Former premier Najib Abdul Razak (Umno-Pekan) said today that the four-fold increase in allocation under Budget 2021 to revive the Special Affairs Department (Jasa) propaganda unit was "unacceptable" and would court public anger.

He said this in his debate of the Supply Bill (Budget) 2021 in the Dewan Rakyat today.

"In times of a crisis when allocations are more needed to save the people, the introduction of a four-fold increased allocation for Jasa compared to times under BN is hard to accept and has courted public anger.

"I can accept if the allocation is used to buy face masks or hand sanitiser for the people or given to parents as a replacement for their children's missed breakfasts under the Rancangan Makanan Tambahan scheme," he said.

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said today that it shouldn't be assumed Budget 2021 will receive full support in Parliament if it isn't amended to take better care of the people.

The Port Dickson MP said this in response to the speech delivered by Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz on Friday which did not seem to attempt to secure bipartisan support for the budget as it did not incorporate demands made by Pakatan Harapan MPs.

"I would like to stress here, I do not want there to be an easy assumption. The situation now has changed.

"The government, the finance minister, and prime minister are aware that there is not yet a guarantee that the budget in its current form unless amended to take care of the people as per our (Harapan) demands, will be easily passed," said Anwar in his debate of the Supply Bill (Budget) 2021.

The Selangor State Legislative Assembly has approved RM160 million Supplementary Supply Bill Enactment 2022.

Tengku Zafrul explains that his absence from the parliamentary sitting was due to a personal emergency.

Sarawak State Legislative Assembly today passed the Supplementary Supply (2021) Bill 2022 for an additional expenditure of RM478,843,946 in 2021.

The sitting will also continue with the debate and winding up of the Supply Bill 2022.
